Auriga3D is a modern open source realtime 3D game engine based on the Typhon framework and entirely written in Java supporting both JOGL and LWJGL OpenGL bindings for hardware accelerated features. Typhon provides a centralized component framework oriented towards real time applications. Auriga3D is a plugin component to Typhon. Currently, Auriga3D works with Quake3 maps using the standard Quake3 lightmap rendering system. In the future normal mapping, per pixel lighting, and OGLSL programmable shading will be supported in extended components/render paths along with the possibility of Doom3 compatibility. Auriga3D features support for the Scream interactive audio engine developed by EGR Software. Work is also in progress in supporting ODEJava (Java binding to the Open Dynamics Engine).
