Solarium installation powered by EGR Software technologies at Burning Man 2004
Redwood City, CA -- EGR Software, LLC today announced a collaborative project to bring
an advanced spatial music experience to the Sol System theme camp at Burning Man through installing
an ambisonic multichannel capable audio system powered by AmbiPan. AmbiPan, a software
spatialization mixer, is software built with the
Typhon
framework and
Scream. It allows sound
to be controlled with interactive user defined patterns or statically placed anywhere in the
performance space through a real time visual oriented graphic user interface.
The Solarium is a 30' geodesic
dome fitted with an 8.2 EAW sound system. Inside patrons will find a relaxed environment facilitating the
multichannel experience. This installation will be in operation from August 30th to September 5th 2004.
Soon AmbiPan will be extended to allow full 3D spatialization on large sound arrays setup up in
3D configurations. This next generation technology will not only be accessible to music applications,
but will be integrated into EGR Software's interactive audio framework for game development.
